Do I really have to change keyboard?
Yes, and it is the only thing Glotta asks of you. In exchange it asks nothing else: no session to start, no reminders, no minutes to find in your day. The system keyboard stays installed and you can switch back any time with the globe key.
Does Glotta read everything I type?
Glotta is a keyboard, so it sees the text you type as you type it — like any keyboard. What matters is where it goes: by default it stays on the phone. In password fields the system passes the keyboard nothing at all, so there Glotta reads nothing, translates nothing and learns nothing.
Does it work without a connection?
Yes. The language pair you pick downloads once, and from then on the translation happens on the phone. On a plane, on the underground, or abroad with no data, it works exactly as it does at home.
Which apps does it work in?
All the ones where you use the keyboard: messages, email, notes, social apps, work chats. Glotta does not need the host app to know anything about it.
Which languages can I learn?
Nineteen, among them Spanish, English, French, German, Portuguese, Japanese, Korean, Chinese and Arabic. You work on one pair at a time — your language and the one you are learning — and you can change it whenever you like.
What does it cost?
The whole loop is free forever: on-device translation, collecting your sentences, review and the widget. Premium adds the stronger models for hard sentences, coaching in the language you are learning, the reason behind every correction, unlimited replacements and pronunciation audio.
Why does it need Full Access?
Without Full Access an iOS keyboard cannot use audio or read the store it shares with the app. Those are the two things that make pronunciation possible, and that let the sentences you wrote with the keyboard already be there when you open Glotta.
Are my sentences used to train models?
No. Your sentences stay your study material: they do not feed any model's training and they are not sold or handed to third parties.
Can I delete what Glotta has collected?
Yes. From the app you can delete a single sentence, a word from your vocabulary, or the whole store. Uninstalling Glotta takes everything with it, because it lives on the phone.
Which devices does it work on?
iPhone running iOS 18 or later. The language pair downloads once and then stays available with no connection.
